Petaldrift
It may look like snow is piled up on the sidewalks of the Quad, but in reality its just that time of year when the campus cherry trees are past their prime and losing their petals in the rain and wind. The cherry trees are perhaps feeling the passing of the seasons a little more than usual this year, as a number of them have reached the end of their natural lives and need to be replaced. The Class of 1959 has mounted a drive to ensure the renewal of one of the Universitys favorite symbols of spring.

Looking for a home
Bob Phelps, the faculty adviser to the UWs amateur radio club and an emeritus professor in mathematics, sits in front of the clubs equipment in the Mechanical Engineering Building. Due to space contraints, Phelps and amateur radio operators on campus are looking for a new home on the top floor of a campus building. The group must also have roof access in order to erect and maintain an antenna.
