Job Description:
Brand new ceramics studio in downtown historical Snoqualmie seeking a ceramics instructor
with experience in wheel throwing, hand building and glazing. Electric kiln loading/unloading
and firing knowledge is preferred but not required.

Here’s what you’d be doing:
– Teaching small classes of 6 people at a time, primarily adults ages 16 and older. During
the summer there will be camps for kids ages 6-12.
– Teaching short 2 hour classes as well as 6 week long courses where students meet once
per week for 3 hours a session.
– Loading/unloading and firing the kiln (after properly trained)
– Lesson planning. You will have the freedom to teach what you want as long as it fits
within certain parameters that make sense for beginners and the class type.

Requirements:
– High School Diploma or GED
– At least 18 years old
– Able to lift up to 50lbs without help
– Must have weekend availability
– Portfolio of work. Student work can be included
– Work up to 4 hours per shift

Experience:
– Bachelors in art or equivalent, or near graduation
– At least 1 year experience working with clay required
– Confident wheel throwing and/or hand building required
– 1 year teaching and/or customer service experience preferred but not required
– Comfortable teaching kids 6-12 years of age during the summer
– Knowledge of how to load/unload a kiln preferred but not required
