SIHB Core Competencies
Core Competencies are foundational commitments and skills that all SIHB staff are expected to develop. These competencies define common measures for performance that are applied to every role in the organization.

DESCRIPTION
Design or create graphics to meet specific commercial or promotional needs, such as packaging, displays, or logos. May use a variety of mediums to achieve artistic or decorative effects. This position has one report.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead design and design strategy for SIHB projects and campaigns
- Collaborates with team to develop strategic plans for SIHB projects and campaigns
- Design SIHB marketing and collateral materials
- Design event promotional material
- Keep current on social media and design trends
- Coordinate with consultants on design projects
- Conduct design trainings with staff and/or partners
- Manage website update and design
- Conduct assessment of current design and digital channels
- Design and develop digital templates for staff
- Lead design for SIHB brand update and/or rebrand
- Collaborate with communications leadership to develop strategic plan
- Collaborate across all SIHB departments to support with design projects and presentation, as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or visual communication design or related field, or equivalent experience
- Four years of graphic design experience
- Two years of digital design experience
- Familiar with Adobe design programs
DESIRED QUALIFICATION
- Interest in teaching others
- Experience working with tribes and /or Native non-profit organizations
- Understanding of American Indian/Alaska Native community and health issues as well as those of the surrounding community
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
SIHB operates on a 4/10s schedule. Specific workdays are determined in conjunction with the manager with occasional extra hours for events or to meet deadlines.
