{"id":1176,"date":"2017-07-26T11:56:28","date_gmt":"2017-07-26T18:56:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/?p=1176"},"modified":"2017-07-26T11:57:05","modified_gmt":"2017-07-26T18:57:05","slug":"call-for-art-solo-exhibition-at-method-gallery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/2017\/07\/26\/call-for-art-solo-exhibition-at-method-gallery\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Art: Solo Exhibition at METHOD Gallery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a; font-size: large;\"><strong>METHOD is accepting submissions from individual Washington State artists for a solo exhibition scheduled for<br \/>\nApril 20 though June 2, 2018<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Artists residing in Washington State in all media are invited to apply. <span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\"><br \/>\nWomen artists, artists in communities of color and LGBTQAI artists are strongly encouraged to apply!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Note:\u00a0 Groups of artists that wish to collaborate to create one cohesive installation (rather than a group show)<br \/>\nare also welcome to apply.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PLEASE READ THIS CALL CAREFULLY AND COMPLETELY PRIOR TO SUBMISSION. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #da4444;\">Application deadline is SUNDAY AUGUST 20, 2017: 5:00pm PST<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">The mission of METHOD is to foster and exhibit sculpture and installation that regards process, material, and concept, while engaging the gallery space.<br \/>\nWe endeavor to: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">promote\u00a0a changing program of visually stimulating, well-researched, and thoughtful exhibitions. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">provide a venue for interdisciplinary thinking that supports exploration and creative problem solving <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">provide a contemporary exhibition space for artists who are working outside the traditional commercial standard.\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">offer a platform for discussion on artistic content, aesthetics, technical considerations, experimentation, and the creative process that are supported by artists\u2019 talks. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">present exhibitions that question, inform, and inspire through engagement with the larger community.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3f3f3f;\"><span style=\"color: #2a2a2a;\">WE WILL BE SELECTING ARTWORK THAT MOST CLEARLY ALIGNS WITH THIS GALLERY MISSION AND THAT UTILIZES NEW WORKS DEDICATED TO TRANSFORMING THE GALLERY SPACE FOR THE VIEWING PUBLIC.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>For more information, see\u00a0here:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.methodgallery.com\/open-call-for-art.html\">http:\/\/www.methodgallery.com\/open-call-for-art.html<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>METHOD is accepting submissions from individual Washington State artists for a solo exhibition scheduled for April 20 though June 2, 2018 Artists residing in Washington State in all media are invited to apply.
