The VSR has a thorough working knowledge of the facilities, exhibitions, and activities and is responsible for visitor greeting and orientation and maintaining visitor materials. VSRs are cross-trained and responsible for ticket sales, group orientation, and event support\u2014including coat check, gallery procedures, exhibition content, and interactive support.<\/p>\n<h5>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED)<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Transfer a learned knowledge of all things to museum guests through a thoughtful, pleasant, and enthusiastic demonstration of exemplary guest service skills<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate a consistently professional appearance<\/li>\n<li>Maintain in-depth knowledge of the museum\u2019s exhibitions, products, services, and membership programs<\/li>\n<li>Actively promote the museum\u2019s programs and events by engaging guests in the membership program and other upselling opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate cash handling skills<\/li>\n<li>Understand and utilize the museum\u2019s onsite computer systems including point of sale and time keeping programs<\/li>\n<li>Comply with established museum safety, health, and security programs<\/li>\n<li>Actively exemplify a professional, cooperative, and courteous work attitude at all times<\/li>\n<li>Comply with departmental attendance policy and maintain flexible shift availability<\/li>\n<li>Other duties as assigned by Visitor Services Management Team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION\/EXPERIENCE\/CERTIFICATIONS)<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required to ensure exceptional visitor service for both the general public and internal guests<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and diverse team environment<\/li>\n<li>Two years of remarkable guest service experience preferred<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a continuous work flow in a high-volume, high-expectation environment<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends<\/li>\n<li>Strong interest in the pop culture topics presented at MoPOP, including but not limited to music, film, television, and digital media<\/li>\n<li>Accurate and organized cash handling experience preferred<\/li>\n<li>Ability to handle stress and stay focused, even-tempered, and congenial<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>WORK ENVIRONMENT + PHYSICAL DEMANDS<\/h5>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
