This year we are calling it\u00a0<i class=\"\">New Terrain<\/i>\u00a0because the purpose of the show is to give emerging, young artists the platform to show their work. <strong>The theme for\u00a0<i class=\"\">New Terrain<\/i>\u00a0will pertain to displacement and subjects surround diaspora, however a student chooses to portray what will be accepted into the show<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">\n<ul>\n<li>There are ten spots total open for the exhibition<\/li>\n<li>Every participant will receive compensation for their work<\/li>\n<li>Their work will be printed and written about in the brochure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"divtagdefaultwrapper\" class=\"\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"\">A student may submit their work by simply emailing <a class=\"\" href=\"mailto:as.gallery@wwu.edu\">as.gallery@wwu.edu<\/a> with an artist statement, a summary of the work, and photos and\/or plans of the work they wish to submit into the show.\u00a0<strong>Applications are due Dec. 22nd of 2017.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">For more information, please visit:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/as.wwu.edu\/gallery\/.\">http:\/\/as.wwu.edu\/gallery\/.\u00a0<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Western Washington University&#8217;s Viking Union gallery is accepting applications for an upcoming show, &#8216;New Terrain.&#8217; Every year, the gallery hosts an exhibition of students from the Northwest with a jury of Western&#8217;s Art and Art History Department faculty.
