This position is part-time ranging between 20 and 25 hours a week.<\/p>\n<p>KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):<\/p>\n<p>Prepare Youth for Success<\/p>\n<p>1. Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>promote and stimulate program participation;<\/li>\n<li>register new members and participate in their club orientation process; provide guidance and role modeling to members.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure that all programs and activities and organized and conducted in a professional manner and are reflective of the Boys &amp; Girls Club philosophies<\/li>\n<li>Provide support to youth and families at all times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Program Development and Implementation<\/p>\n<p>2. Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop-in members and visitors.<\/p>\n<p>3. Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports.<\/p>\n<p>4. Plan, coordinate, and implement daily and weekly activities for youth. Be prepared with weekly schedule and each rotation planned in advance using a variety of activities that utilize and teach diverse learning skills.<\/p>\n<p>5. Aid in the continual development and implementation of new, fun, and educational activities for youth.<\/p>\n<p>6. Aid in the development, planning, and implementation of on-going quarterly activities, special events, parent night, etc.<\/p>\n<p>7. Aid with the coordination and facilitation of BGCA National programs (Youth of the Month, Youth of the Year, S.M.A.R.T. Moves, incentive programs, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>8. Establish communication links between members, parents, teachers, school staff, police, community leaders and supervisors.<\/p>\n<p>Supervision<\/p>\n<p>9. Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly branch staff meetings.<\/p>\n<p>10. Assist with the implementation and enforcement of safety policies\/procedures regarding participant safety, risk management, and building security.<\/p>\n<p>11.Assist with the up-keep of Club maintenance and appearance.<\/p>\n<p>12.Handle minor youth conflict as it occurs in programs.<\/p>\n<p>ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n<p>1. May participate in special programs and\/or events.<\/p>\n<p>2. May be required to drive Club van.<\/p>\n<p>RELATIONSHIPS:<\/p>\n<p><b>Internal:\u00a0<\/b>Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive\/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines\/ instructions; instruct; and advise\/counsel.<\/p>\n<p><b>External:\u00a0<\/b>Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members&#8217; parents and others to assist in resolving problems.<\/p>\n<p>SKILLS\/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School diploma or GED.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in working with children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of youth development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to deal with the general public.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid State Drivers License<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Job Type: Part-time<\/p>\n<p>Salary: $15.00 to $16.00 \/hour<\/p>\n<p>Education:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school or equivalent (Required)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recreation Program Specialist PROFILE SOURCE:\u00a0Youth Development Professional DEPARTMENT:\u00a0Programs REPORTS TO:\u00a0Unit Directors http:\/\/www.bgcbellevue.org\/ PRIMARY FUNCTION: Plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided in within a specific program area, such as Education, Special Education, Social Recreation, Arts &amp; Crafts, and Physical Education.
