Have you ever been in one of those rustic throw-back looking restaurants in Seattle and wondered where they get all those rusted steel pieces and ancient looking wood beams? Well, that&#8217;s us! And here&#8217;s your chance to be part of the behind-the-scenes crew of the hippest, fastest-growing city on the map!<\/p>\n<p>We need someone with a passion for design and fabrication. Architecture, one-of-a-kind furnishings and installations, graphic design, interior d\u00e9cor &#8211; if these things speak to you, you need to speak to us!<\/p>\n<p>Blackrock Industries is looking for an entry level print and design assistant! But we are more than just your average print shop.<\/p>\n<p>Our primary duty is bridging the digital world with the physical &#8211; we draw and design things that need to be built. Sometimes from a full client brief, most times from a napkin sketch. The only knowledge we ask that you bring through the door is functional knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and basic 3D modeling. If you&#8217;ve ever built anything in a garage or wood shop, and know how to read a tape measure, that is a huge plus. You will need to know your way around Windows computer, and if you understand basic PC and Mac troubleshooting, that is also a plus. Everything else you will learn over the course of your time with us. And you will learn plenty.<\/p>\n<p>This will be a multi-disciplined position, ranging in everything from digital print production, vinyl graphic installation, 2D and 3D rendered mock ups, to product photography and helping us maintain a social media presence. Your duties will begin with admin work, all other skills will be trained per project.<\/p>\n<p>Full rundown of what a usual day at the Blackrock Printshop looks like:<\/p>\n<p>Client Communication: Information Requests, progress updates, design consultation.<\/p>\n<p>Vendor Communication: CAD File exchange, sourcing, managing vendor production.<\/p>\n<p>Digital Media:<br \/>\nVector Graphic Design (logos, signage, stencils)<br \/>\nRaster Graphic Design (large and small format prints, conceptual art)<br \/>\nPhotography: Production, Product, and Interior.<br \/>\nArch\/Viz and Product Visualization<br \/>\nCAD file production, processing, and management<br \/>\nShop Drawings<\/p>\n<p>Marketing:<br \/>\nApparel and Branded Merchandise<br \/>\nEmployee Engagement (photos, custom prints, slideshows, videos, etc)<\/p>\n<p>Physical Media:<br \/>\nLarge and Small format printing<br \/>\nStencil\/Label\/Plotter Production<br \/>\nVinyl Print Lamination and Installation<br \/>\nSignage Construction<br \/>\nIntra Shop Responsibilities<br \/>\nUpdate job files with renderings, photos, shop drawings.<br \/>\nPrint and maintain plan files.<br \/>\nOccasional Material pickup and delivery (any heavy lifting will be assisted)<br \/>\nMaintain and distribute digital files upon request.<br \/>\nResearching and implementing how digital media tools can assist shop production.<\/p>\n<p>Please email your resume!<\/p>\n<p>Want to know more about Blackrock, check out our website!<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackrockind.com\">www.blackrockind.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description Do you like making cool stuff?
