The Seattle Channel is seeking an undergraduate\u00a0web production intern to work with its web team, communication manager and program producers to help coordinate Seattle Channel’s online efforts. The intern will assist with social media posts, update content in the city’s content management system and optimize image files for use on the web and print. The intern will also help research emerging technologies to enhance the online experience.<\/p>\n

Educational benefit to student:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Applied experience in web design and development along with outreach strategies, including social media. The intern will also gain a broader understanding of the public sector and the inner workings of municipal government as well as exposure to TV production.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

  • Create and update content in city’s content management system to be published on seattlechannel.org<\/li>\n
  • Contribute to and manage content on social media channels.<\/li>\n

Minimum Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Education:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Must be enrolled in an accredited educational program preferably studying Digital Media, Web Design, Web Development, Digital Design, Visual Communications Design.. Undergraduate interns must maintain a satisfactory GPA of 2.0 or higher for the duration of the internship.<\/p>\n

Experience<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.<\/li>\n
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.<\/li>\n
  • Able to work efficiently with attention to deadlines.<\/li>\n
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Photoshop.<\/li>\n
  • Familiarity with visual design principles, content management systems and social media platforms.<\/li>\n
  • Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, XML, Javascript.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

Start\/End Dates:\u00a0<\/strong> Internship will start late September\/early\u00a0October, 2016 and end June, 2017.<\/p>\n

Internship Duration:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>9 months.<\/p>\n

Schedule<\/strong>:\u00a0 Intern will work between 10-15 hours\/week.\u00a0 Work hours will be scheduled between 9:00 a.m and 5:00 p.m.\u00a0 Intern may work some evenings.<\/p>\n

Salary<\/strong>:\u00a0 Undergraduates will be paid $15.73\/hour.<\/p>\n
