{"id":2244,"date":"2018-10-17T11:12:44","date_gmt":"2018-10-17T18:12:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/?p=2244"},"modified":"2018-10-17T11:17:19","modified_gmt":"2018-10-17T18:17:19","slug":"seattle-art-museum-internships-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/2018\/10\/17\/seattle-art-museum-internships-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Seattle Art Museum: Internships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Winter Quarter 2019<br \/>\nApplication Due Date: November 1, 2018<\/p>\n<p>Title: Communications Unpaid Intern<br \/>\nDepartment\/Location: Communications Department<br \/>\nStaff Mentor: Communications Associate<br \/>\nLearning Objectives: The intern will work with staff to maximize visibility of selected exhibitions and programs for SAM.<\/p>\n<p>Intern Tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support department administrative needs<\/li>\n<li>Media relations<\/li>\n<li>Organize electronic press clippings<\/li>\n<li>Compile press kits and materials for media<\/li>\n<li>Write press releases and other copy for exhibitions, programs and events<\/li>\n<li>Assist public relations and marketing in special projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working in a professional, office setting.<\/li>\n<li>Prior public relations, marketing, graphic design and writing experience a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work with staff and volunteers in a professional manner in a variety of tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively to staff, volunteers and public.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to ask for help and accept supervision and evaluation of your work.<\/li>\n<li>Abide by the Standards for Museum Volunteers\/Interns as outlined in the Volunteer\/Intern Packet.<\/li>\n<li>Expected time commitment: average 15-20 hours\/week, schedule is flexible within Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm office hours.
