Two credits equal six hours of work per week. Three credits equal nine hours of work per week. These are averages; there will be variation week to week.<br \/>\nWe are seeking someone who can commit to the entire academic year.<\/p>\n<p>Although we&#8217;d love someone in their Junior year, we are open to anyone who is excited about this role.<\/p>\n<p>Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<ul>\n<li>Draft social media posts for the School&#8217;s Facebook and\/or Twitter accounts<\/li>\n<li>Work on the School&#8217;s Instagram account periodically and help with organizing takeovers<\/li>\n<li>May take photos and\/or videos of School activities<\/li>\n<li>May draft School press releases in MailChimp<\/li>\n<li>Design\/layout of promotional materials<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with setup and take down at select School events<\/li>\n<li>Create event posters using a template<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<ul>\n<li>Learn to use the UW&#8217;s alumni and donor database for research support<\/li>\n<li>Prepare and mail donor correspondence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Minimum Qualifications:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work independently with attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality<\/li>\n<li>Availability to work at late afternoon and evening events, typically two to four per quarter<\/li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills, especially writing<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with digital media and social networking tools<\/li>\n<li>Competence with Microsoft Word and Excel<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to learn new technology and database skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Desired Qualifications:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator<\/li>\n<li>Some photography experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience in event planning and\/or coordination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Educational Benefits:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<ul>\n<li>Gain general office, database, and computer skills that are transferable to any arts, educational, and\/or non-profit environment<\/li>\n<li>Enhance and gain skills in creative content development and social media networks, communications, and web marketing<\/li>\n<li>Participate in event planning and execution with a fun and dynamic staff<\/li>\n<li>Learn about broad-based engagement from a supportive team<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>To Apply:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<ul>\n<li>Email Merith Bennett (mab4@uw.edu) and Jeanette Mills (jcmills@uw.edu)<\/li>\n<li>Include a statement about why you are interested in this position and describing your applicable\u00a0skills\/experience<\/li>\n<li>Attach your resume<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Events + Marketing Intern will have a unique opportunity to assist with social media, events, and building relationships with donors, students, and alumni.
