We believe the more you engage with design, the more you feel connected to your changing city. As a volunteer driven organization, we provide programs which will empower you to make a difference in your community.<\/p>\n<h5>Project Description<\/h5>\n<p>SAF serves students through after-school and summer programs at middle schools throughout the greater Seattle area, providing workshops designed to connect students to the built environment through hands-on design and modeling projects. Our teachers work on-site at local public and private schools with the assistance of local architects. Current school partners are: Asa Mercer International MS, Denny International MS McClure MS, Washington MS, Open Window School, and The Northwest School.<\/p>\n<h5>Qualifications<\/h5>\n<p>\u2022 1-2 years of experience working with middle or high school students<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Some study, practice, or demonstrable interest related to architecture, design, urbanism, and\/or civic engagement<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Commitment to working within a racial, gender, and class equity framework<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Willing to submit to background check<\/p>\n<h5>Basic Expectations<\/h5>\n<p>\u2022 Attend any school orientation sessions and lunch time and evening recruitment events (paid) as available<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Lead lessons and activities on-site at SAF partnered schools<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Participate in trainings and planning sessions by SAF<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Support and delegate to SAF Volunteers in the classroom<\/p>\n<h5>Deadline to apply is February 28, 2020<\/h5>\n<h5>For more information and to apply, click <a href=\"https:\/\/seattlearchitecture.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/2020-Summer-SAF-Design-Instructor.pdf\">here.<\/a><\/h5>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SAF Summer Programs Design Instructor Part-Time, Temporary Position Seattle Architecture Foundation (SAF) Mission The Seattle Architecture Foundation connects people to the architecture, design, and history of Seattle.
