We are housed in Mary Gates Hall within UAA (Undergraduate Academic Affairs). We focus on higher-order thinking and supporting students to become independent learners. Our tutors emphasize the process of learning and skill building, not just content expertise. We value teamwork and strive to develop a growth mindset in the students with whom we work.<\/p>\n<p>We at CLUE also strive to create a diverse academic environment that is inclusive of students and staff of different social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds. These positions are expected to work during the academic year (September &#8211; June) and will play an important role in ensuring CLUE\u2019s 300+ nightly participants are receiving tutoring and the program is running smoothly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"section\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p><strong>Under the supervision of ASP\u2019s CLUE Program Manager, the Student Assistant will have the following responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf \u00a0Serve as the first point of contact for evening CLUE programming.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Support the daily operations of CLUE.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Support front desk managers with the setup and breakdown of the center.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and training of ASE tutors for drop-in, discussion session and exam reviews offered by CLUE.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Coordinate with the program manager on the scheduling of all exam reviews.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Coordinate communication with student groups to help with outreach emails to students.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Create and edit promotional materials such as flyers, announcements, emails, etc. to advertise and promote CLUE services throughout campus through the use of Internet and social media, updating the website and communicating through Facebook, Twitter, etc.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Assist in the implementation of changes and improvements to ASP programming to support evolving student needs and streamline operations.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Maintain the unit storage room.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Track, store, maintain, and manage CLUE technology, with the support of UAA IT staff, such as laptops, surfaces, and check-in systems.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Be present during CLUE hours to support tutors and students.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Offer creative innovation as needed.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf \u00a0Bachelor\u2019s Degree.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a01 &#8211; 2 years office operations experience and or customer service.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and personnel in a host of other departments and programs on campus.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Detail oriented with strong management and organizational skills<br \/>\n\u25cf\u00a0 Bring humor, creativity, and a strong work ethic to the team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf \u00a0Experience working with diverse student populations<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Experience scheduling large staff loads.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Understanding or union contracts.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Experience working in a college or university-level setting.<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Experience working with or managing an online tutoring platform or program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All UAA ASP Staff will demonstrate and integrate the following Undergraduate Academic Affairs Competencies:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf \u00a0Accountability and Integrity<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Race, Equity, and Difference<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Constituent Focus<br \/>\n\u25cf \u00a0Collaboration and Teamwork<\/p>\n<p><strong>CLUE Program hours of operation\u200b:<\/strong><br \/>\nSunday through Thursday 6:30 pm \u2013 11:00 pm<br \/>\nAll tutoring activities are mainly held in Mary Gates Hall during the academic year with the addition of tutoring shifts in the HUB.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Assistant work hours, location, and pay rate:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3 nights a week from 6:00pm -11:00pm for a total of 15 hours per week.<br \/>\nThe Student Assistant will be located in Mary Gates Hall but helps with preparing materials for all the work we do.<br \/>\nPay rate:\u200b $20\/hr<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please send your resume and cover letter to \u200b<a href=\"mailto:clue@uw.edu\">clue@uw.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Application Closes on February 28th 2020<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CLUE Student Assistant Position Description CLUE (Center for Learning and Undergraduate Enrichment) is the UW\u2019s largest late night tutoring center.
