{"id":3090,"date":"2020-02-19T09:28:20","date_gmt":"2020-02-19T17:28:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/?p=3090"},"modified":"2020-02-19T09:28:20","modified_gmt":"2020-02-19T17:28:20","slug":"port-of-seattle-aviation-art-program-intern","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/2020\/02\/19\/port-of-seattle-aviation-art-program-intern\/","title":{"rendered":"Port of Seattle &#8211; Aviation Art Program Intern"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"ng-scope\">\n<h5 class=\"answer ng-binding jobtitleInJobDetails\" tabindex=\"0\">College Intern \u2013 Aviation Art Program<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ng-scope\">\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope position3InJobDetails\">4100 Aviation Director&#8217;s Office<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ng-scope\">\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope position3InJobDetails\">Sea-Tac Intl Airport \/ AOB<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ng-scope\">\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope position3InJobDetails\">Hourly: $19.06 &#8211; $27.06<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ng-scope\">\n<p class=\"question thick ng-scope ng-binding jobdescriptionInJobDetails\">Job Description<\/p>\n<p class=\"answer ng-scope jobdescriptionInJobDetails\"><span><strong>PURPOSE:<\/strong><br \/>\nTo research, develop, and provide the initial collection management and scope of work for future exhibits in addition to coordinating special projects, and assisting in organizing exhibits.\u00a0 In addition to working closely with the SEA Art Program Technician, this work will also involve working with the External Relations on publicity and setting up events around exhibits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<\/strong><br \/>\nThis list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed.\u00a0 Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul dir=\"ltr\">\n<li><span>Work with Art Program Manager to become familiar with the artworks that the Port has and understand the overarching Port Art Program and its mission and purpose within the Port of Seattle.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>A major project this position will be helping coordinate will be assisting the art program and working with IT and our web content controllers on reformatting the SEA Public Art website.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Work with Art Handler on actual installation of exhibits.\u00a0 This will also involve working with and getting input from several organizations within the Port, such as but not limited to External Relations, Commission Office, Maintenance, and Operations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Prepare documents such as presentations to Exhibit Review Committee, Art Oversight Committee, requests for proposals, budget requests, and justifications for the works as needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Collect, preserve, and prepare exhibit records to allow easy access to information on exhibits. \u00a0We have records going back 40 years of doing exhibits at the Airport and, if time permits, would prepare a report on how these records should be maintained.\u00a0 These records are not in digital form at present and it would be beneficial to have a digital representation of past exhibits.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES:<\/strong><br \/>\nEffective communication and writing skills. Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills. Must possess strong organizational and time-management skills. Possess excellent technical writing skills to clearly capture identified requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The ability to work on several projects at one time.\u00a0 Ability to gather technical and non-technical information from many sources with many levels of complexity and condense into requirements. \u00a0Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems, translating or explaining what information means and how it can be used.\u00a0 Ability to establish long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.\u00a0 Ability to take initiative and be responsible for getting work done with limited supervision.
