This person will be a member of our core team, working closely with the designer, creative director, event manager, and our network of contractor fabricators to carry out the custom creations.<\/p>\n<p>We are hiring mainly for a great fit for our company, not necessarily experience in this particular role. We want a great attitude, great ideas, and an aptitude to figure things out and think on your feet. You should be an avid builder\/ maker\/ crafter and have produced physical things. You should be able to research on your own, experiment with materials, and figure out the best way to create something- and then create it.<\/p>\n<p>Successful candidate must be efficient with time, and NOT procrastinate.<\/p>\n<p>Successful candidate should love discovering new materials and working with a variety of media and a variety of project types.<\/p>\n<p>Your main responsibility will ensure that all pieces of an event are fabricated, assembled, curated, and finished. Everyone on our team participates in setting up and taking down events- sometimes occurs on weekends and late nights.<\/p>\n<p>This position is highly flexible and can be adapted to the individual<\/p>\n<p>Hours: range between 20-30 per week with opportunity for more hours during peak season (November + December) Production artist must attend weekly check ins with the creative director and team, be self directed, but open to feedback and not afraid to ask questions.<\/p>\n<p>Pay: Pay range is $18-25 an hour depending upon experience.<\/p>\n<p>Location: Employee will work out of our Edmonds office.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Past duties for this role have included:<\/strong><br \/>\nBuilding custom pedestals that will support 300 lbs.<br \/>\nForaging\/ Curating logs<br \/>\nPurchase all raw materials.<br \/>\nDevelop and record instructional videos to crew staff.<br \/>\nMentor crew staff on building practices.<br \/>\nResearch costs and fabrication options for a 20\u2019 space needle.<br \/>\nReading plans, and instructions<br \/>\nPaint a Seattle scene on a 16\u2019 wall.<br \/>\nDetermine best connection option for standoff sign.<br \/>\nSolder clips to ends of wire.<br \/>\nBuild shelves<br \/>\nTransform a chair to be shaped like a hand.<br \/>\nUpholster a chair<br \/>\nPaint an ombre effect on a 20\u2019 wall.<br \/>\nApply vinyl text to walls.<br \/>\nTrouble shoot weight issues for 6\u2019 tall papier mache mushroom.<br \/>\nMake 1000 paper fans to create a 10X20\u2019 fan wall<br \/>\nDrill holes in 200 books<br \/>\nResearch solutions to make a 6\u2019 self supporting banana out of sustainable materials.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s important that you are comfortable building things but also that you fit well with our team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You might be a good fit if you can identify with the following:<\/strong><br \/>\nI geek out about how things go together.<br \/>\nI like to mash up different ideas and materials to get something new.<br \/>\nI can do difficult things.<br \/>\nI can talk about difficult things with tact and thoughtfulness.<br \/>\nI can keep my cool when under pressure.<br \/>\nI can think on my feet and make decisions.<br \/>\nI work best in a dynamic creative environment.<br \/>\nI can delegate.<br \/>\nPeople tend to like me.<br \/>\nI like people.<br \/>\nI am talented.<br \/>\nI trust myself.<br \/>\nI am trustworthy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 The employee is required to stand, walk and use hands to finer, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl. The employee may need to lift and\/or move up to 75 pounds. Employee must move awkward and large size items and maneuver them into doors and elevators and through winding hallways. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to heavy. The temperature will vary from hot to cold depending on the weather. The employee must be able to (or willing to learn) to drive a 16\u2032 and 24\u2032 truck. Standing and walking on concrete floors (sometimes for hours) is sometimes necessary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 GED or High School Diploma-Possess a valid Washington State drivers license with a clean driving record-Must speak, read and write English fluently<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs and operate dollies and carts<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be able or willing to learn how to drive vans and large trucks up to 20 feet long.<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be able to stand\/walk for long periods of time<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be comfortable with heights and working on a ladder<br \/>\n\u2022 Must have flexible availability and the ability to work late nights and some weekends 15-20 times a year.<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be detail oriented, with close attention to care needed for fragile items-Must be able to read a map and be good with locating Event Venues in the Seattle Area-Prior experience in the Event Industry or Theater industry a plus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Part-Time, Hourly<br \/>\n<strong>Benefits:<\/strong> Bonus<br \/>\n<strong>Required experience<\/strong>:<br \/>\n\u2022 Must show images of successfully completed physical objects.
