This person is detail-oriented, creative, and has fresh ideas that will help On the Boards grow attendance, engagement, and participation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>General Information<\/strong><br \/>\nStatus: Regular full time, non-exempt.<br \/>\nReports to: Director of External Relations<br \/>\nCollaborates: Executive Director, Artistic Director, External Relations and<br \/>\nCuratorial teams, and contracted Designer.<br \/>\nCompensation: $41,000 \u2013 43,000 commensurate with experience<\/p>\n<p><strong>Organization Description<\/strong><br \/>\nOn the Boards is a 40-year-old arts organization located in Seattle, Washington. The organization owns and operates the Behnke Center for Contemporary Performance, located in Seattle&#8217;s Lower Queen Anne neighborhood. The facility includes multiple art and performances spaces, including the 300-seat Merrill Wright Theater, a flexible Studio Theater, and four rented retail spaces.<\/p>\n<p>OtB has repeatedly been the first art center in our region to introduce audiences to the world\u2019s most forward-thinking artists like Spalding Gray, Bebe Miller, Phillipe Quesne, The Wooster Group, Reggie Watts, Gisele Vienne, David Byrne, Laurie Anderson, Pat Graney, Crystal Pite, zoe|juniper, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Dayna Hanson, and Dani Tirrell. This extraordinary roster of artists, among many others, have played a vital role in On the Boards\u2019 history and its reputation in the field as one of the best places in the country to develop, perform, and view contemporary performance.<\/p>\n<p>On the Boards operates with a $1.3 million budget and a staff of 12. Our programming includes regional and international commissions and performance presentations, in addition to new initiatives that center a diversity of artists and ideas. If you have questions about where we are in our process of undoing racism and inequity in our organization, we are happy to share past and current documentation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Communications &amp; Digital Media Manager<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Communications and Digital Media Manager drives the creation and<br \/>\nimplementation of On the Boards communications and storytelling activities through engaging content and intuitive web experiences that build a greater awareness of OtB\u2019s mission, values, and our creative work with contemporary artists. They ensure that the media, the field, our community, and the public know who we are, what we do, what sets us apart, and why that matters.<\/p>\n<p>The Communications &amp; Digital Media Manager will work closely with the External<br \/>\nRelations team, OtB\u2019s contracted Designer, and outside vendors to complete their work. They will be responsible for day-to-day marketing project management, budget support and reconciliation, and social and paid media strategy and implementation. This position requires weekly data analysis and reporting review, daily calendar oversight, and ongoing work to build engaging, eye catching, and unique content in a voice that is consistent with OtB\u2019s mission and values. The ideal candidate will enjoy crafting communication that messages and integrates OtB\u2019s many program initiatives, as well as creating a holistic and evolving approach to telling the stories of our organization and the artists we are invested in with our broader community and audiences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Goals<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Collaborate with the External Relations team and Designer to create artist<br \/>\ncentered content rooted in the voices and experiences of our constituency.<br \/>\n\u2022 Collect and aggregate data from different sources to build a system that<br \/>\nevaluates the effectiveness and reach of On the Boards communications<br \/>\nstrategies and its relation to revenue, attendance, membership, and community<br \/>\nengagement.<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop marketing and communication tools that expressly serve a racially,<br \/>\nethnically, and socioeconomically diverse audience and community.<\/p>\n<h4>Responsibilities<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Communications<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Collaborate with the External Relations and Curatorial teams to regularly identify<br \/>\nand prioritize institutional news, programs, and special events, as well as<br \/>\nadditional information useful to the community at large.<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage and execute communications efforts for the organization, including<br \/>\nblog\/website content, e-newsletter and regular e-blasts, social media<br \/>\nengagement, and other communication platforms.<br \/>\n\u2022 Create and manage a marketing calendar to ensure regular communications to a<br \/>\nvariety of constituents throughout the year.<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage MailChimp email lists and work with other External Relations team<br \/>\nmembers to maintain up-to-date records in the Patron Manager database.<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage the production of program booklets for performances by gathering<br \/>\ncontent from the External Relations and Curatorial departments, laying out<br \/>\ncontent in pre-approved templates, and printing and photocopying in time for<br \/>\nperformances.<br \/>\n\u2022 Use templates to generate flyers and signage around the building to notify<br \/>\naudiences of upcoming programs and other building updates and news.<br \/>\n\u2022 Proofread any marketing communications for accuracy and ensure materials<br \/>\nadhere to brand standards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Digital Media<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Create visually engaging, artist centered, social media content<br \/>\n(web\/audio\/visual\/video).<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage OtB\u2019s websites (ontheboards.org and ontheboards.tv): build and edit<br \/>\ncontent; working cross-departmentally to ensure information is timely and<br \/>\naccurate; measuring and reporting analytics; and monitoring and implementing<br \/>\nSEO strategies.<br \/>\n\u2022 Using data from social media and Google analytics to track, evaluate, and report<br \/>\nimpact of content and campaigns in digital media channels.<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop a cross-platform content strategy.<br \/>\nAdvertising &amp; Marketing<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop and execute campaigns that respond to both short- and long-term<br \/>\nstrategic goals.<br \/>\n\u2022 Develop and place media buys; negotiate advertising contracts and secure<br \/>\nmedia sponsorships.<br \/>\n\u2022 Coordinate direct mail projects with Designer, colleagues, vendors, and post<br \/>\noffice.<br \/>\n\u2022 Measure, evaluate, and report impact of content and campaigns.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 An interest in contemporary performance art.<br \/>\n\u2022 Creativity and the ability to develop original cross-platform content within the OtB brand narrative.<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong project management skills and a passion for problem solving, creative<br \/>\nthinking, and resourcefulness.<br \/>\n\u2022 Comfortability analyzing digital data to draw key recommendations around<br \/>\nwebsite optimization.<br \/>\n\u2022 Familiarity with HTML and the ability to update information on our Drupal-based<br \/>\nwebsites.<br \/>\n\u2022 Capable of working both independently and collaboratively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired Skills<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to monitor key online marketing metrics and conduct regular social media<br \/>\naudits to track success and ensure best practices are being used.<br \/>\n\u2022 Proficiency in video and image editing software including Adobe InDesign.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and receipts.<\/p>\n<p>If your skills do not meet all the qualifications listed above, tell us why you would be an excellent fit anyway, we\u2019d love to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Schedule<\/strong><br \/>\nDue to COVID-19 health restrictions this job will begin working from home exclusively.
