\nPrincipal Investigator and Assistant Professor Audrey Desjardins is seeking applicants for a Research Assistant to help investigate and document an innovative approach to help home dwellers critically engage and understand the potential applications and interpretations of their own domestic data. The research seeks to defamiliarize the data by building creative representations situated in people\u2019s own homes. To navigate the obscure and interpretable nature of IoT data, we will collaborate with artists (fiction writers) to create workflows that translate domestic data logs into data narratives in the form of short stories (which we call: Data Epics). Those short stories will capitalize on the ways people understand complex situations and concepts through narrative structures.<\/p>\n

\nMasters students in Design or related fields. Masters of Design (MDes) students preferred.<\/p>\n

\nAbility to research and simplify how Internet of Things data work (synthesize and communicate)<\/p>\n
