If you\u2019re not familiar with Glowforge, we make the iconic 3D laser printer that broke crowdfunding records in 2015 and have been on an incredible growth streak ever since.<\/p>\n<p>What you\u2019ll be doing:<br \/>\n\u25cf (70%) Proposing print settings for new and existing materials<br \/>\n\u25cb Test new materials (e.g. paper, cardstock, cardboard, new plywoods) to determine the best default print settings (cuts, scores, and engraves)<br \/>\n\u25cb Run calibration prints on a Glowforge Pro to determine baseline settings<br \/>\n\u25cb Validate those settings across a fleet of machines in the Glowforge Seattle office<br \/>\n\u25cb Log settings and results in a spreadsheet<br \/>\n\u25cb Take pictures of proposed settings<br \/>\n\u25cb Run calibration prints and analyze material damage to set material damage warning thresholds<br \/>\n\u25cf (15%) Developing new settings for existing materials<br \/>\n\u25cf (15%) Testing out new lines of material<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to follow directions and ask questions when things are unclear<br \/>\n\u25cf Enjoys interacting with others to achieve ambitious and positive results<br \/>\n\u25cf Exceptional organization time-keeping skills \/ time management<br \/>\n\u25cf Access to a camera (a phone is fine)<\/p>\n<p>Nice to haves:<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience working with a laser cutter\/engraver<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience working with a Glowforge<br \/>\n\u25cf Experience with design software, preferably Adobe Illustrator<\/p>\n<p>If interested, please send a note to <a href=\"mailto:jobs@glowforge.com\">jobs@glowforge.com<\/a> with the subject: \u201cI\u2019m interested in your Materials Testing Coordinator position!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job summary: \u25cf Part-time job opportunity \u25cf ~20 hours\/week for 8-16 weeks \u25cf Flexible hours \u25cf Working from the Glowforge Seattle office \u25cf $20-$25 per hour Glowforge, a Seattle-based tech startup, is looking for a Materials Testing Coordinator to help propose and develop print settings for new and existing materials used with our printer.
