This is a part-time position for a current student. The graphic design assistant will work closely with the UW Sustainability team to develop marketing communications materials that educate and engage the UW community regarding sustainability programs and initiatives.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/green.uw.edu\">UW Sustainability<\/a> is a central source for information and resources regarding sustainability practices and programs at the University of Washington. Our office promotes sustainability events, efforts, accomplishments, and more in print and online communication. At the University of Washington, diversity is integral to excellence. UW Sustainability values and honors diverse experiences and perspectives, while striving to create welcoming and respectful learning environments and promote access and opportunity for all.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Assist with creative concept planning for campaigns and outreach efforts.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Design posters, flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Concept and prepare social media images and infographics.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Design graphic elements for web, newsletters, and emails.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Work collaboratively to guide creative concepts and make them a reality.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Assist in creative design and communications for Earth Day, Sustainability Fair, and other campus events.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Develop presentation slides for staff and executives.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Manage branding assets and updates.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Take photos and manage photo library.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Provide general administrative support.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Participate in team meetings and discussions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign.<\/li>\n<li>Creative with strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to lead creative brainstorming and collaborative idea generation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience creating and editing video.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working on Mac computers.<\/li>\n<li>Interest in sustainability, environmental justice, social equity, and\/or ecological knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience working in an office environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UW Sustainability is looking for a student graphic design assistant starting in August 2021.
