Working with the SPACE Executive Director and Board, the Coordinator works to fulfill the Gallery\u2019s mission through coordinating exhibits, artist talks and events, community-based educational programs and engaging with visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Hours: Part-time, 10-20 hours per week. Must be able to work Thursday and Friday. Evenings and weekends are required for events with advance notice.<br \/>\nCompensation: $20.00\/hour<\/p>\n<p>This is currently a contract position and does not include benefits.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate with Executive Director and Artists to put on exhibitions, including establishing timeline, installing\/de-installing work, labeling and lighting of artworks and obtaining consignment agreements for incoming artworks. Work with guest curators to bring their vision to life within the gallery.<\/li>\n<li>Staff and schedule assistance of volunteers as needed for regular gallery hours (currently 11:00 a.m. \u2013 3:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday; and by appt.)<\/li>\n<li>Maintain welcoming and clean environment in the gallery \u2013 open and close Officers Club for every shift and be able to share a minimal degree of Magnuson Park history with visitors. Provide art interpretation and information to visitors re: current show and artists.<\/li>\n<li>Assist and work with board members and other volunteers to host artist receptions, talks and other events outside regular hours. This includes providing marketing assistance, preparing the gallery, circulating among visitors to answer questions and promote SPACE as a whole, and returning the gallery to its usual state in time for next day of business.<\/li>\n<li>Provide marketing assistance by updating events on the website and social media platforms, writing exhibit promotions for the radio station to broadcast, and other design and promotion tasks.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain accurate reporting of attendance numbers and other categories as defined by executive director in accordance with Public Benefit requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Draft and manage Calls for Artists\/Curators as determined by Executive Director.<\/li>\n<li>Work with SPACE Executive Director to generate exhibition possibilities for the Gallery.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with gift entry and thank you notes for SPACE.<\/li>\n<li>Take on other intermittent duties in support of successful operations as defined by Executive Director and Board of Directors.<\/li>\n<li>Process sales following established procedures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Education: Bachelor\u2019s preferred; relevant life experience will also be considered<br \/>\n\u2022 Must have experience or be open to learning best practices in art handling and installation<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be organized, detail oriented, and have excellent project management skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be a self-starter, able to work with limited supervision<br \/>\n\u2022 Able to work variable and flexible hours<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent verbal and written skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent computer skills including, MS Office Suite, Google+, basic HTML and web design<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience working with the public in an outreach capacity<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience with Zoom and other video conferencing programs<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience with various social media platforms<br \/>\n\u2022 A demonstrated commitment to racial equity and social justice<\/p>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Must be able to lift 20 lbs<br \/>\n\u2022 Position requires the ability to<br \/>\n\u2022 sit \u2013 at the desk for extended hours<br \/>\n\u2022 stand\/walk \u2013 with visitors or during art installation\/de-installation<br \/>\n\u2022 kneel, crouch often \u2013 to reach files\/tools\/supplies or during art installation\/de-installation<br \/>\n\u2022 dexterity \u2013 ability to handle tools, such as a hammer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Plus:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Knowledge of Constant Contact<br \/>\n\u2022 Knowledge of Wix website design platform<br \/>\n\u2022 Worked in Non-profit, museum, and\/or Gallery<br \/>\n\u2022 Adobe Suite proficiency<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience in event streaming<\/p>\n<p><strong>Covid-19:<\/strong><br \/>\nDuring this time, we know that the position will need to adapt depending on regulations at the time. Coordinator will work with SPACE Executive Director and Board to determine safety standards for visitors and staff within the Gallery.
