Gage Youth Programs offer practical art instruction in drawing, painting, digital, and 3-D design for students aged 6 to 18. The curriculum encourages students to explore new materials and techniques, develop creative problem-solving skills and to celebrate self expression. Gage Youth Programs is dedicated to providing engaging, age-appropriate classes that enable young artists to be seen and heard.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Youth Summer Programs Teaching Assistants Positions Available:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Kids (ages 6-11)<br \/>\n\u2022 Teen (ages 12-18)<\/p>\n<p>Teaching Assistants provide Gage youth instructors with overall classroom support to create a positive, supportive, and engaging art experience for kids camp; teens ages 6-18. Experience working with youth a must!<\/p>\n<p>Dates: June 20th \u2013 September 2nd, 2022 Monday \u2013 Friday<br \/>\n(30 &#8211; 40+ per hours\/week)<br \/>\n$17.27 \/HR<br \/>\nPosition Located at 1501 10th Ave E; Seattle, WA 98102<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Experience working with youth required<br \/>\n\u2022 Artistic background with knowledge of art materials a plus<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to engage youth in art making activities<br \/>\n\u2022 Knowledge of Zoom, Padlet, and other distance learning tools<br \/>\n\u2022 Team player &amp; problem-solver with ability to prioritize duties<br \/>\n\u2022 Detail-oriented, fun and creative, energetic, warm, good planner, and self starter, loves working with teens or kids!<br \/>\n\u2022 CPR\/First Aid certified<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Duties:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Set up &amp; break down studios daily\/weekly<br \/>\n\u2022 Create a clean environment where kids and teens can safely enjoy themselves<br \/>\n\u2022 Supervise youth artists to ensure positive and safe learning atmosphere<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide instructors with hands-on classroom support<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist instructor with overall classroom management<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage online classrooms through zoom and other online platforms<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide one-to-one assistance &amp; feedback to students, as needed<br \/>\n\u2022 Mediate\/solve in-classroom conflicts (e.g. disruptive behavior)<br \/>\n\u2022 Work cooperatively with instructors &amp; other teaching assistants<br \/>\n\u2022 Create an inclusive environment for all<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintain professional relationship with students, parents, &amp; Gage staff<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage, gather, and organize supplies for instructor daily; monitor supply\/materials usage<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide structured activities for the Creative Care program:<br \/>\n\u2022 Monday \u2013 Friday from 8am-9:15am OR 3:30pm-5pm (kids assistants only)<\/p>\n<p>*Please Note: This position requires the ability to lift heavy objects (tables, easels, model stands, etc), sweep and mop floors, empty trash, and other clean up duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Training &amp; Preparation:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Preliminary orientation. Workshop preparation, including organizing supplies (before summer session) and clean up (after summer session)<br \/>\n\u2022 Participate in one pre-meeting and one post-meeting with workshop instructors to provide workshop continuity and feedback<br \/>\n\u2022 Attend CPR\/First Aid Training prior to summer session<\/p>\n<p>Covid: All staff are required to be vaccinated against Covid-19. At this time, up-to-date vaccination means two doses of either Pfizer or Moderna, or one of J&amp;J.
