PST<\/p>\n<p>FUNDING: $100 Stipend for participants that complete the workshop and homework<\/p>\n<p>SCHEDULE:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thursday, July 28, 2022 Optional Q&amp;A, 6:30-7:30pm *<\/li>\n<li>Thursday, August 4, 2022 Applications due, 5pm PST<\/li>\n<li>Friday, August 12, 2022 Selection announced<\/li>\n<li>Saturdays, Sept 24 &amp; October 1 Workshop Dates, 10am-5pm *<br \/>\n*Location: Downtown Redmond (email CulturalArts@redmond.gov if virtual accommodations<br \/>\nare needed)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>OPPORTUNITY :<br \/>\nPublic Art Intensive Eastside is a two-day basic training sponsored by the City of Redmond and open to visual artists who have an interest in exploring the presentation of their work in public settings, community-building or enhancing the built environment. Topics covered include: contracting, fabrication, maintenance, and social practice. Plan to spend an additional 8-12 hours outside of the workshops to develop a public art concept for homework. Participants that attend both dates and complete the homework will receive a $100 stipend and be eligible for an exclusive paid opportunity to apply for a temporary public art project for the City of Redmond.<\/p>\n<p>SELECTION CRITERIA<br \/>\nArtists will be selected through a panel process based on the strength of their application and must meet the below qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be 18 years old or older<\/li>\n<li>Must live in and around Redmond or surrounding areas<\/li>\n<li>Able to participate in both workshop dates<\/li>\n<li>Has not received a temporary or permanently sited public commission with a total budget of over $5,000<\/li>\n<li>Has not previously completed the Public Art Intensive Eastside<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The City of Redmond affirms its commitment towards a culturally inclusive community and seeks artists comprised of a diverse working group in terms of cultural experiences, backgrounds, ethnicities, sexual identity, gender identity and abilities, etc.<\/p>\n<p>APPLICATION<br \/>\nTo apply, each artist must submit the following materials via e-mail or hard copy:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Artist Bio (not to exceed 300 words)<\/li>\n<li>Letter of Interest (not to exceed 500 words) including:<\/li>\n<li>What interested you in the field of public art generally?\n<ul>\n<li>Why do you want to move towards a public art practice?<\/li>\n<li>How will this benefit your career?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Images of Past Work\n<ul>\n<li>Up to 5 images of similar previous work<\/li>\n<li>An image list or caption with the following information for each photo: title, year made, dimensions, medium and short description.<\/li>\n<li>Video substitutions are accepted:<\/li>\n<li>Links to online video sharing platform, no file attachments<br \/>\nVideo settings should be set to public<\/li>\n<li>Should not exceed 1 minute run time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Email Submission:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mail to: <a href=\"mailto:CulturalArts@redmond.gov\">CulturalArts@redmond.gov<\/a><br \/>\nSubject line should read: Public Art Intensive Eastside_NAME<\/p>\n<p>Include:<br \/>\nName of Artist with contact information<br \/>\nAddress<br \/>\nPhone<br \/>\nE-mail<br \/>\nArtist\u2019s website link (if available)<br \/>\nOne consolidated PDF including Artist Bio, Letter of Interest, and Images<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hardcopy Submission:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mail to:<br \/>\nATTN Cultural Arts 4NPK<br \/>\nCity of Redmond<br \/>\nPO Box 97010<br \/>\nRedmond WA 98073<br \/>\nOr Hand Deliver:<br \/>\nRedmond City Hall, 15670 NE 85th Street<br \/>\nOpen Mon-Fri 8am-5pm<\/p>\n<p>Include:<br \/>\nCover Page with Name of Artist and contact information<br \/>\nAddress<br \/>\nPhone<br \/>\nEmail<br \/>\nArtist Bio, letter of Interest and Images<\/p>\n<p>Applications are due Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 5 P.M.
