Everyday will be a new adventure; whether it is creating visuals for social media or a billboard, laying out an annual report, or animating graphics and maps, for visual production, you will be able to maximize your graphic design skills across a wide array of media, audiences, and deliverables while creating interesting work.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You will visualize and create graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts, and photo editing. Content includes presentations, publications, web graphics, video graphics, apparel, email templates and infographics.<\/li>\n<li>You will create and edit visual content including maps, charts, and graphs. Additionally, you will transform data sets both quantitative and qualitative analysis into compelling images, and provide visual, technical, and editorial guidance on effective data visualizations and infographics.<\/li>\n<li>You will create artwork for the web, video, or television in addition to using visual effects, animation, and other cinematic techniques to aid in the understanding of the topic. Content includes animated explainer videos, GIFs, and video loops for social media.<\/li>\n<li>You will be responsible for the overall production and execution of visual aspects of an advertising or media campaign and coordinate the work with clients in addition to supervising vendors, production, and assets.<\/li>\n<li>You will attend press checks, installation of artwork, and manage a large volume of production.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"requisitionDescriptionInterface.ID1945.row1\" class=\"contentlinepanel\" title=\"\">\n<div id=\"requisitionDescriptionInterface.ID1961.row1\" class=\"inlinepanel\" title=\"\"><span class=\"subtitle\">Who you are:<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span class=\"inline\">\u00a0<\/span><em>Two years of experience may be substituted for one year of education:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Experienced\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 You have three (3) years of visual design experience with hands on production of communication materials in a government agency, corporate communications group, or communications agency.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Educated<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 You possess an Associate\u2019s Degree in Advertising, Design, Marketing, or related field.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Desired<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 We hope you have a Bachelor\u2019s Degree and five (5) years of experience in visual design with hands on production of communication materials in a government agency, corporate communications group, or communications agency.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Committed to Equity<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 You will apply equity and exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices in all aspects of the work. \u00a0At the Port of Seattle, equity is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all Port employees.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Effective Communicator<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 You can work efficiently with stakeholders and employees to intake new projects, feedback on work, and deliver a final result.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Technically Skilled<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 You are proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere, and PowerPoint, with the ability to generate multiple concepts with different visual messaging and strong collaboration skills to manage review cycles and implement feedback in a manner that is consistent to brand style. Additionally, you are skilled in illustration and storyboarding, and have basic photography and videography skills to provide as backup when needed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Knowledgeable\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 You possess a strong understanding of core design principles such as layout, typography, color theory, and presentation design. You have excellent design skills and understand the technical specifications to produce creative content across multiple media from printed layouts, large format, social media, and assets for video production. In addition, you are knowledgeable of creative services, design and marketing best practices, creative development and material production workflow.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collaborator\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 You are able to work with diverse internal and external stakeholders at various levels of the organization, with the ability to build relationships and resolve problems while providing excellent guidance and customer service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"requisitionDescriptionInterface.ID1995.row1\" class=\"contentlinepanel\" title=\"\">\n<p><span id=\"requisitionDescriptionInterface.ID2001.row1\" class=\"subtitle\" title=\"\">What else you need to know<\/span><span id=\"requisitionDescriptionInterface.ID2018.row1\" class=\"subtitle\" title=\"\">:<\/span><span class=\"inline\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Work Schedule<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Your normal work schedule will be Monday \u2013 Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role. You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Work Environment<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; This work can take place in a hybrid remote\/in-office setting.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Washington State Residency Requirement\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.<\/li>\n<li><strong>COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Effective, November 15, 2021, the Port of Seattle will require that at the time of hire, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be able to provide proof of their full COVID-19 vaccination status, as part of the hiring process. This is a condition of employment for all positions at the Port of Seattle. People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose series or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine. Prior to employment, candidates may make requests for a reasonable accommodation based on a medical disability or for sincerely held religious beliefs.
