Hours vary throughout the year: full-time around the annual conference (Feb-July) and part-time\/flexible hours for the rest of the year (Aug-Jan). This position is frequently the initial external face and voice of the organization, requiring a positive attitude, excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills. The successful candidate understands the value of initiative and can work independently on assigned projects or as a member of the small Glass Art Society team.<\/p>\n<p>Duties include but are not limited to:<br \/>\n\u2022 Answer email and telephones and direct inquiries<br \/>\n\u2022 Process outgoing\/incoming mail, parcels, faxes and courier deliveries<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage office equipment and supplies<br \/>\n\u2022 Enter information into and maintain an extensive database<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist with maintaining organizational calendar<br \/>\n\u2022 Process new and renewing memberships and donations<br \/>\n\u2022 Compile new member, renewal, and donor reports and prepare monthly mailings<br \/>\n\u2022 Process Journal orders, custom mailing lists, and t-shirt sales<br \/>\n\u2022 Registrar for conference \u2013 process forms and follow up with attendees<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage the Work Exchange\/Volunteer program &#8211; recruit volunteers and Work Exchange participants, work with GAS staff and local committee to determine positions and schedule, set up registration, manage 60-100 volunteers and Work Exchange participants at the conference, collect time sheets and send thank you letters, etc.<br \/>\n\u2022 Serve as the primary contact and manager for Tech Display &#8211; set up registration, solicit potential vendors, process payments, conduct vendor booth lottery, distribute exhibitor kits, etc.<br \/>\n\u2022 Serve as the staff point person for the annual Goblet Grab event &#8211; work with Board committee to promote the event, conduct a call for submissions, cashier at conference<br \/>\n\u2022 Send out mass emails and update GAS website pages for assigned projects<br \/>\n\u2022 Assist with creating conference forms as needed<br \/>\n\u2022 Travel to and work registration at annual conference, and serve as the on-site contact for assigned projects (Work Exchange\/Volunteer, Tech Display, Goblet Grab)<br \/>\n\u2022 Other duties as assigned\/required by the Executive Director or GAS staff<\/p>\n<p>Candidate will have:<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong attention to detail and be highly organized<br \/>\n\u2022 Interest in the arts (knowledge of glass a plus)<br \/>\n\u2022 Typing skills, high school diploma, GED or equivalent<br \/>\n\u2022 One to two years experience in administrative support preferred<br \/>\n\u2022 Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word<br \/>\n\u2022 Some knowledge of network and database operations<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills a must<br \/>\nAbility to lift up to 25 lbs.<\/p>\n<p>Compensation: $13 &#8211; $15 per hour<\/p>\n<p>Local residents preferred (no relocation).
