{"id":6121,"date":"2022-10-03T12:25:19","date_gmt":"2022-10-03T19:25:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/?p=6121"},"modified":"2022-10-03T12:25:56","modified_gmt":"2022-10-03T19:25:56","slug":"uw-dining-student-assistant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/advis104\/2022\/10\/03\/uw-dining-student-assistant\/","title":{"rendered":"UW Dining Student Assistant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">PURPOSE<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Provide entry-level food preparation and customer service to customers of UW Dining venues.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">TYPICAL DUTIES<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Operate point of sales (POS) system; receive cash, count change, receive Husky Card and debit card payments from customers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Review menu and price lists; quote prices of frequently purchased items.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Assemble, plate, package and\/or serve items to customers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Assist customers and answer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, location of retail items, current prices, and available goods.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Bus tables, remove garbage, and clean counters, shelves, fixtures, etc.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Follow established food safety guidelines, maintain established standards of cleanliness.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Wash and prepare fruits, vegetables and other food items.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Assist cooks by opening packaging and apportioning contents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Make and stock beverages, including brewed coffee, tea and associated condiments. May make espresso beverages.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Restock and maintain cleanliness of work and\/or service areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Operate and\/or clean kitchen equipment. Report malfunctions to kitchen leadership.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and equipment; operate dishwashing machines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Clean kitchen area and maintain cleanliness of work and\/or service areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Operate laundry machines; sort and fold laundry for food service operation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Must be a matriculated University of Washington student taking at least 6 undergraduate credits or 4 graduate credits.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Acquire a Washington State Food Worker Card within two weeks of employment and maintain thereafter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u2022 Ability to lift and carry up to 48 pounds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">REPORTS TO<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Unit Manager or Assistant Manager<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">2022 Compensation: starting at $17.27 per hour<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Application + Details Available here: <a href=\"https:\/\/hfs.uw.edu\/apps\/seaweb\/\">https:\/\/hfs.uw.edu\/apps\/seaweb\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PURPOSE Provide entry-level food preparation and customer service to customers of UW Dining venues.
