UW Community Fashion Expo<\/h4>\n

Henry Art Liaisons (HAL) invite students and\u00a0community members to <\/span>Wearing Who we Are: A UW Community Fashion Expo<\/a> on Friday May 24th, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the exhibition<\/span> Ra\u00fal de Nieves: A window to the see, a spirit star chiming in the wind of wonder\u2026<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

HAL created this public program as a celebration of identity through fashion centering Queer, Trans, Black, and Indigenous People of Color (QTBIPOC) who are often marginalized as creators and artists within historical museum settings.<\/p>\n

To liven the space with the UW student community\u2019s creativity and desire for activism, we are collaborating with registered student organizations Modality and Indigenous Students of Latin America to highlight their work through tabling and interactive activities. Recent UW graduates and fashion designers Archie Sugiyama and Elena Qiu will also be onsite kicking off the event with a mini-fashion show featuring live models wearing their designs. They will be present throughout the expo to share more about their creative practices!<\/p>\n

It will surely be an exciting afternoon of artmaking, conversation, and community building! Everyone is invited to \u201cwear who you are\u201d and dawn your favorite outfit!<\/p>\n

Admission is free and masks are highly encouraged.<\/p>\n
