Work will include conceptualizing, developing, designing, and producing digital and print marketing materials for various HFS units.<br \/>\nThis opportunity is ideal for students with an interest in marketing, communications, design\/branding, and\/or business. Students will receive authentic experience in a professional environment, including direction and feedback from the Communications and Marketing team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Draft marketing and promotional materials for HFS, including on-campus retail and residential dining restaurants and cafes, markets, catering, Residential Life events and activities, and business operations.<br \/>\n\u2022 Simple photography as needed for campaigns.<br \/>\n\u2022 Support graphic designer in working collaboratively with the Communications and Marketing team on brand\/image, alignment with the Department\u2019s and University\u2019s vision and values, messaging, communications, information design, and graphics and photography.<br \/>\n\u2022 Perform related duties as required.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Current UW Seattle-campus student with interest in design, communications, business, marketing, and\/or social media.<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, digital photography and photo editing.<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent writing, speaking and interpersonal skills.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines and exercise good judgment in a dynamic environment.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to represent HFS professionally and to communicate comfortably with students, faculty and staff while working.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to function independently and as a team member.<br \/>\n\u2022 Flexibility and availability to work evenings\/weekends as needed to capture events on campus.<br \/>\n\u2022 A desire to learn, a strong passion for creativity, and a willingness to have fun!<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong computer skills, with Microsoft Office Suite experience.<br \/>\n\u2022 Web design and social media experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COLLABORATION RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 This position will work closely with the entire Communications and Marketing team, including other student employees, and will receive direction from a unit Manager.<\/p>\n<p><strong>POSITION COMPLEXITIES<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 This position will work 0\u201319.5 hours per week and will work to meet project goals and subsequent deadlines. Additional duties may be assigned for special events that occur within or outside a regular work schedule.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 The work is performed in an open office setting with noise and other distractions, as well as various indoor and outdoor locations on the UW campus.<br \/>\n\u2022 This position may travel on foot or by vehicle to campus locations with a camera.<br \/>\n2024 Compensation: starting at $20.23 per hour<\/p>\n<p><strong>WORK SCHEDULE<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 This position does not maintain regular office hours at the outset.
