Our arts coverage shines a light on the city\u2019s most interesting artists and makers\u2014including everything from food and music to drag queens and poets\u2014without being afraid to get a little weird at times. We ask tough questions, provide well-researched answers, and offer unique insights into the cultural lives of our city.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re looking for an editor filled with contagious enthusiasm and the desire to share their love for\u2014and critiques of\u2014the Seattle arts scene in both TheStranger.com and our monthly print issues. The arts editor will also play a vital role in selecting nominees for our 2025 Genius Awards, in which we shower brilliant local creators with thousands of dollars, no strings attached.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Additional Information<\/strong><br \/>\nThis is a full-time, exempt, non-union position. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, and we work on a hybrid remote\/in-person model.<\/p>\n<p>Qualified applicants must possess the following:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"job-listing-header\">Requirements<\/div>\n<div data-bind=\"html: Job.Requirements\">\n<p>\u2022 Previous and demonstrable editing and management experience.<br \/>\n\u2022 Snappy, smart writing paired with a passion for digging deep into the arts scene (particularly visual arts, theater, film, and books). Must respect and be interested in all forms of culture, from highbrow to low.<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be extremely organized and able to manage a small team of freelancers and staff writers, and be able to bring in new, exciting contributors.
