Do you want to share your knowledge with others?<\/p>\n<p>Northwest Pottery Collective is a new, locally owned pottery studio in Issaquah, WA that provides a wide-range of ceramic art classes, open studio memberships, and specialty supply sales to the community. The mission of Northwest Pottery Collective is to provide a welcoming and encouraging environment for ceramic artists of all ages and abilities to engage with the ceramic arts and the community. We endeavor to be an inclusive, non-intimidating space where everyone, regardless of experience or perceived \u201cartistic talent\u201d can learn the ceramic arts and feel successful. We are Creating Community with Clay!<\/p>\n<p>At Northwest Pottery Collective, the Studio Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining studio equipment, studio organization and cleanliness, and operating Open Studio hours. The Studio Technician will perform all duties during Open Studio hours and provide general supervision of Open Studio members. The Studio Technician will also process retail customer payments during Open Studio hours and answer member\/customer questions as needed.<\/p>\n<p>Studio Technician duties at Northwest Pottery Collective include:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Glaze mixing and maintenance<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Loading\/unloading and firing kilns (\u220604 bisque, \u22065 glaze)<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Kiln (and kiln furniture), slab roller, extruder, wheel, pugmill, and clay trap maintenance and troubleshooting<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Supervising Open Studio hours<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Organizing student\/member work<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Clay reclaim and pugging<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Providing studio orientation tours to new members as needed<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Ordering supplies and retail sales as needed<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Customer service and communication as needed<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Ensuring a clean and organized studio environment, with weekly deep-cleaning tasks<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Processing payments, creating\/updating member\/customer accounts, and other administrative tasks as needed<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Commitment to a regular schedule on a quarterly basis that may include evenings and weekends<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Minimum 1 year experience as a Studio Technician at a public or private institution<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Preferred: Minimum 2 years experience as a Studio Technician at a public or private institution<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Preferred: Experience processing customer payments, creating\/supporting customer accounts, and ordering<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Experience maintaining studio equipment including kilns, wheels, pug mills, extruders, clay traps, and slab rollers<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Excellent organization and communication skills<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Adept at proactively identify and solve problems<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Have a helpful, friendly, and energetic attitude<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Be comfortable with occasionally serving alcohol during events and be able to attain appropriate permits<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Regular hours every quarter<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Use of studio equipment and tools during Open Studio (if equipment is available and duties are completed in a timely manner) or after-hours (restrictions may apply)<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Purchase clay at cost<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Friends &amp; Family discount codes for class registration and Open Studio memberships (restrictions apply)<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Potential hourly pay raises with exceptional performance<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Ability to apprentice with Class Instructors as able<\/p>\n<p>At Northwest Pottery Collective, we are hiring for multiple Studio Technician positions to help maintain and support studio operations, as well as supervise our Open Studio hours, which are designed to fit around our class offerings. We offer classes on a rolling quarterly<\/p>\n<p>basis so our Open Studio hours (during which the Studio Technician is working) will flex every quarter. We will require commitment to a full quarter schedule prior to the beginning of the quarter, but we cannot guarantee that the Open Studio hours will not change during the quarter.
