Great communication, empathy, and a willingness to both give and receive constructive feedback are key to success here.<\/p>\n<p>Characteristics: <b>Friendly, supportive, knowledgeable, detailed &amp; coachable<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Answer and teach studio students and members on throwing and\/or hand building their pottery<\/li>\n<li>Mix and replenish clay<\/li>\n<li>Mix and replenish glaze, slips, and washes<\/li>\n<li>Load and unload kilns<\/li>\n<li>Unload clay deliveries, keep stock organized<\/li>\n<li>Inform Studio Managers of any issues or concerns in a timely manner<\/li>\n<li>Clean facilities thoroughly<\/li>\n<li>Support and be helpful to other staff members<\/li>\n<li>Perform other projects as assigned by Studio Managers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and determine priorities when multiple tasks must be completed<\/li>\n<li>Ability to remain on task and not allow oneself to be distracted by the active studio environment<\/li>\n<li>Experience with kiln loading, glaze mixing, clay reclaiming<\/li>\n<li>Experience with ceramic fabrication (mold-making, glazing, are a plus)Strong interest to work in the field of ceramics<\/li>\n<li>Ability to repeatedly lift 50lbs without assistance<\/li>\n<li>Ability to communicate effectively with students, instructors, members, and the public and act as an ambassador to the studio<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>STATUS:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Full time or Part time<\/p>\n<p><b>COMPENSATION:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PART TIME:<\/li>\n<li>$23.5 per hour<\/li>\n<li>Full access to studio<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>APPLICATION MATERIALS:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resume<\/li>\n<li>Written statement about 150-200 words explaining why you are a great candidate.<\/li>\n<li>3-5 images of ceramic work<\/li>\n<li>Link to website, Instagram or online portfolio if available<\/li>\n<li>2 References<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Email Submission to:<\/b><br \/>\n<b>Jobs@throwandbuild.com<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Full job description Become a part of our pottery studio as a Studio Assistant!
