The Center offers professional dance studios and flexible multidisciplinary spaces that serve artists, educators, and community members. This position plays a key role in ensuring the Center operates smoothly, safely, and accessibly for all who use it.<\/p>\n<p>Whim W\u2019Him is driven by values-led leadership grounded in generosity, connection, and inspiration. We\u2019re seeking a Venue Manager (Facilities &amp; Rentals) who is practical, organized, and people-centered, and who enjoys building systems and supporting a wide range of users in a dynamic, creative environment.<\/p>\n<p>This position is grant-funded and supports the ongoing operations and public access goals of the Whim W\u2019Him Contemporary Dance Center.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About You<\/strong><br \/>\nYou\u2019re comfortable working in a small, collaborative, fast-paced team and value transparency, accountability, and clear communication. You enjoy creating and maintaining systems, balancing multiple priorities, and acting autonomously when needed. Alignment with our values, reliability, and a commitment to supporting artists and community members are essential.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Role<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Venue Manager (Facilities &amp; Rentals) is responsible for managing facilities operations and studio rentals at the Whim W\u2019Him Contemporary Dance Center. Core responsibilities include:<br \/>\nOverseeing daily operations to ensure the Center runs efficiently, safely, and to a high standard<br \/>\nWorking with the Executive Director to deliver on commercial targets<br \/>\nSupporting outreach and marketing efforts related to studio rentals and identifying future rental opportunities and partnerships<br \/>\nAdministering the studio rental program, including maintaining an accurate rental calendar, preparing spaces for renters, processing payments, and providing on-site support as needed<br \/>\nServing as a point of contact for renters and partners, helping nurture a positive, welcoming experience for all users of the Center<br \/>\nManaging facilities systems including maintenance coordination, cleaning schedules, and vendor communication<br \/>\nTracking inventory and ordering janitorial and building operations supplies<br \/>\nMaintaining facilities cleanliness between professional cleanings<br \/>\nResponding to rental inquiries, providing accurate quotes and information, and maintaining clear communication with clients<br \/>\nContributing to social media promotion of renter events and facility amenities<br \/>\nIn collaboration with the Artistic Director, responding to building-related emergencies (electrical\/wifi outages, doors left unlocked, access issues, etc) and communicating changes with renters.<br \/>\nManaging concerns and questions from long-term office renters<br \/>\nIssuing warnings, citations, fees, and bans as needed for renters who are in violation of their agreements<br \/>\nStewarding our Artist Pricing program by assessing who is in need of reduced pricing, and re-evaluating reduced pricing twice annually by collecting data and auditing needs.<br \/>\nCreating and maintaining rental-related documents such as rental agreements, rental guides, and internal procedures<br \/>\nEnsuring rental activities comply with organizational policies and facility guidelines<\/p>\n<p>Your work directly supports Whim W\u2019Him\u2019s goal of increasing access to affordable, well-managed space for artists and community members while maintaining sustainable operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Experience &amp; Skills<\/strong><br \/>\nRelevant experience may include facilities or venue management, nonprofit or arts administration, operations coordination, or rental and scheduling management. Ideal candidates will demonstrate:<br \/>\nStrong organizational and communication skills<br \/>\nExperience managing schedules, calendars, and multiple priorities<br \/>\nComfort using digital tools such as Google Workspace and scheduling or reservation systems (e.g., Mindbody, Jammed, or similar platforms)<br \/>\nExperience with inventory tracking, maintenance coordination, or vendor communication<br \/>\nAbility to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders<\/p>\n<p>Eligible to work in the United States.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Logistics<\/strong><br \/>\nAbility to work nights and weekends based on rental and building maintenance schedules<br \/>\nWillingness to drive to run errands as needed<br \/>\nAbility to perform physical tasks including cleaning spaces, carrying boxes, moving furniture, and other site maintenance tasks<br \/>\nAble to work onsite at the Whim W\u2019Him Contemporary Dance Center in Seattle<\/p>\n<p><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits<\/strong><br \/>\n$30\/hour (commensurate with experience) at 20 hours per week<br \/>\nCity of Seattle Paid Sick and Safe Time<br \/>\nComplimentary tickets to Whim W\u2019Him Contemporary Dance programs<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apply<\/strong><br \/>\nTo apply, please visit whimwhim.org\/opportunities, navigate to the Venue Manager (Facilities &amp; Rentals) position, and complete the linked Application Submission Form.
