Questions to ask health care providers
uAsk about prescribed medications:
uWhat is the medicine for?
uHow is it to be taken?  For how long?
uWhat are the most common side effects and what should be done if they occur?
uIs this medicine safe to take with the other medicines or supplements the patient is taking?
uWhat food, drink or activities should be avoided while taking it?

The Pharmacist can also answer this questions, but in many cases the patient does not meet the pharmacist.
 Having the Doctor or other medical personnel explain this to the patient usually helps to certify the importance of taking the medication and watching for side effects.
