¨Varicella titer- if the patient has no history of disease-vaccinate if non -immune
¨Offer one time meningococcal vaccine

Since the majority of the population is immune to varicella either through disease or vaccination, it is cost effective to do a titer.  If the patient is over the age of 13 they will need to dosages separated by 4 weeks.  If patient is extremely needle phobic, and no contra indications are present, you may want to consider vaccination
