the session\n<ul>\n<li>Minimize distractions, silence any phones<\/li>\n<li>Close unnecessary windows\/applications<\/li>\n<li>Remove or hide any confidential or inappropriate content<\/li>\n<li>Disable pop-up notifications where applicable (e.g. Outlook)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Check your<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/201362283-Testing-computer-or-device-audio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">microphone<\/a>,<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/201362313-How-Do-I-Test-My-Video-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">camera<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>and<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/201362153-Sharing-your-screen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">screen sharing<\/a>\n<ul>\n<li>If you\u2019re using an external microphone or camera, make sure to plug them in<\/li>\n<li>You can also<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/support.zoom.us\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/115002262083\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">join a test meeting<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>to verify that your microphone and camera work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Connect to the session using the Zoom link on Papercept<br \/>(If you have the Zoom app installed, open the link using the Zoom app)<\/li>\n<li>Click on &#8220;Join Audio by Computer&#8221;, enable your microphone, and start your video<br \/>(If you\u2019re having problems, let the volunteer know)<\/li>\n<li>Locate the session volunteer\n<ul>\n<li>Session volunteers will show up as (Volunteer) (Host) in the participant list<\/li>\n<li>If the current host is an automated moderator, e.g. AIM 2020 Automoderator 20 (Host), wait for the volunteer to join the meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Identify yourself to the session volunteer as the chair\/co-chair<br \/>(The volunteer will grant you co-host privileges)<\/li>\n<li>Verify that you have co-host privileges.\u00a0Additional controls will show up on your meeting toolbar (e.g. Security)<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f03f1ae elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f03f1ae\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\"><h3><span><strong>5-10 minutes before the session<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<p><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-549cb05 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"549cb05\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-text-editor elementor-clearfix\"><ul>\n<li>Make sure you have the show\/no-show form at hand<\/li>\n<li>Using the session program, identify the presenters and perform a quick technical check\n<ul>\n<li>Read each paper\u2019s title and ask the presenter to identify themselves to you<\/li>\n<li>If necessary, repeat the paper title and read the names of the authors<\/li>\n<li>If nobody responds, make a note and move on to the next paper. Otherwise, continue<br \/><em><span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 If nobody identifies themselves as the presenter of a paper at the start of the session, be sure to ask again at the start of the presentation slot for that paper.<\/span><\/em><br \/><em><span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 If a presenter joins the Zoom meeting mid-session, they will not yet have co-host permissions, and therefore will not be able to use their microphone.
