Child Development
[Cartoon: Kids playing][Cartoon: kids playing]

What is this about?

As your children grow they change in many ways. They grow physically larger, learn to solve more difficult problems, and develop increasingly complex social relationships. Children of different ages can accomplish different tasks. You don't expect your two year old to tie her shoes, while at six she probably can. This lesson will explain the normal learning progression from birth through adolescence.

What's in it for me?

Foster children often lag behind other children in some areas of development. A six year old may be physically adept, but have the emotional reactions of a two year old. It can be very confusing and frustrating to parent a six year old who sometimes behaves like a two year old. This lesson will help you identify your children's developmental stages and give you suggestions on things you can do to help your children continue to grow.
