Biography

Professor Pearson attended graduate school at Brown University and received his Ph.D. in 1949. He has a wide variety of experience in both the academic and professional worlds, having taught at Harvard and at the Technical University of Denmark, as well as at U.W. He has spent some years in industry, including working at Arthur D. Little Inc., Sperry Rand Co., and at Boeing Aerospace Co. Professor Pearson is the author of a number of books, some of them classics in the field of applied mathematics.
