AMTAS Spring 2005 Meeting

This was AMTAS’ spring semiannual meeting of academic and industrial partners. Fifty-three persons attended.

The meeting included presentations devoted to:

  • a Center status report
  • composite safety & certification initiatives
  • intellectual property and confidentiality issues for the UW and sister institutions
  • proposals for additional 2005–06 projects and
  • a roundtable discussion on a regional collaborative strategy for composites applications across industries beyond aviation, such as marine, transportation, sporting goods, and medical devices.

To follow up on the cross-industry effort, a small group will be formed to solicit needs from various key industries and identify opportunities for collaboration.
