The University of Washington School of Medicine Department of Anesthesiology has 1-2 year appointments available at the rank of Acting Instructor. Applicants must have passed all parts of the Senior Registrar posts and be approaching the completion of their training. Ideally this is best suited to applicants who have completed their provisional fellowship year. Anesthesiologists with experience in pediatric, cardiothoracic, ambulatory, regional, obstetric, or trauma anesthesia, and pain management are being sought at this time. The post involves 4-1/2 days per week in the operating room or clinic, providing anesthesia to a wide population of patients. Medical direction of resident trainees is expected. More senior positions are available for those who have extensive clinical experience, and particularly, have academic credentials.
Competitive salary and benefits are offered, including malpractice and health insurance, four weeks of annual vacation, and an academic discretionary fund for books, education resources and continuing medical education.
Must have a medical degree and current medical license in home country in order to obtain a Washington State medical license. Appointments will be at the Acting Instructor level. Applicants should have passed the Fellowship and have nearly completed or completed their Senior Registrar posts with minimum of one year of subspecialty training in pediatric anesthesia required. The post involves 4-1/2 days per week in operating room, providing anesthesia to children of all ages and diagnoses, with the exception of congenital heart disease. Some supervision of trainees in pediatric anesthesia is expected. More senior positions are available for those who have extensive clinical experience, and particularly, have academic credentials.
