Ben Aaronson, Ed.S.

Camp Director


Ben has been with UW Autism Center since 2007. He received training at the NYU Child Study Center, the Yale Child Study Center, and the UW Autism Center. Ben has worked at camps from New York to Seattle, including the NYU Summer Program for Kids and Seattle Children’s Stanley Stamm Summer Camp, and served in just about every position from Cabin Counselor to Camp Director.

Daniel Campa, Ed.S.

Team Lead


Danny is a doctoral student in the School Psychology program at the University of Washington. He completed an internship in the Edmonds School District and works as an Assessment Consultant for Rainier Scholars, a non-profit educational organization which serves students of color. Danny has served as a Team Lead at Apex since June 2013.

Adair Cardon, B.S.

Counselor


Adair is an undergraduate at the UW pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Psychology within the Honors College. She has been volunteering at the UW Autism Center since 2012 and is currently working on her departmental Honors research project focusing on birth complications, genetics, and autism. She spent her last four summers as a camp counselor in various summer programs and hopes to continue her current combination of research and working with children as she develops her career.

Erin Baumler, B.A.

Camp Coordinator


Erin has been a lead counselor at APEX Summer Camp for the past two years during both the summer and year-long booster programs. She earned her B.A. in Biology from Scripps College. Prior to joining the UW Autism Center, she worked three years in the personalized learning program at the Mercer Island School District. She has experience working with pre-school through middle school aged children with ASD, ADHD and their typical peers in educational, summer camp, and team sports settings. 

Ashley Penney, M.Ed, BCBA

Behavior and Education Consultant


Ashley is a behavior and education consultant at the UW Autism Center. She received her master’s degree in Special Education at the University of Washington with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis in 2009. Ashley has experience in early intervention, applied behavior analysis, and providing workshops and trainings. Ashley became a board certified behavior analyst in 2009.

Amy Rodda, Ph.C., CCC-SLP

Speech Language Pathologist


Amy is a speech-language pathologist at the UW Autism Center.  She received her Masters Degree in Communication Disorders from Truman State University in 2004, is PROMPT trained, certified as an Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) therapist, and currently is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Washington. Amy has worked in a variety of settings including public schools, in private homes providing early intervention services, and private practice.
