Astrobiology \u2013 the study of the origin, \nevolution, and distribution of life in the universe \u2013 raises questions \nabout who we are, what it means to be human, how human cultures might \nrespond to the discovery of life elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Three outstanding scholars and thinkers \u2013 an astrobiologist, an \nastrophysicist, and an English professor \u2013 will offer their views on \nthese and other social and conceptual issues in astrobiology. All three \nhave held the prestigious Blumberg Chair in Astrobiology at the John W. \nKluge Center of the Library of Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Kluge Center brings together the world’s best thinkers to \ncontribute to the conversation about the challenges facing democracies \nin the 21st century. The Blumberg Chair establishes a focus in the \nnation\u2019s capital for the exploration of issues surrounding the status \nand future of life in the universe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
