The project\u00a0is focused on building climate risk assessment tools to\u00a0inform economic and social policy in the EU. She works with Wim Thiery in the Water and Climate department at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), and her personal work is focused on climate and impact modeling and model emulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Greta Shum graduated with a PhD from the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at UW and a recipient of the UW Astrobiology Program&#8217;s Graduate Certificate. Shum studied the Earth\u2019s climate system and specifically the relationship\u00a0between plants and the atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before coming to graduate school, Shum worked as a science communicator&nbsp;with particular interests in&nbsp;climate change and energy technologies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Greta Shum is currently a postdoc on the EU project, SPARCCLE\u00a0in Brussels, Belgium.
