I earned a Ph.D. degree from Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin, Germany. My Ph.D. was technically in Geosciences, but my work was about Planetary Sciences and Astrobiology <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After finishing my Ph.D. in 2021, I did a two-year Postdoc in the research group of Planetary Sciences and Remote Sensing at Freie Universit\u00e4t Berlin where I extended my Ph.D. work and did more experiments for the detection of biosignatures on Enceladus and Europa \u2022In my current position, I combine laboratory experiments and modeling efforts to better understand chemical and physical processes in icy moon oceans, with a focus on Enceladus <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My goal at the moment is to better understand the freezing of Enceladus ocean water and its emission into space.\u00a0 The big question that drives me is not only to find out if there is life out there, but also how we could detect it \u2022 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside of UW I like to do all kinds of sports, hiking, reading books<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Publications:<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__https:\/scholar.google.de\/citations?user=j6MVr08AAAAJ&amp;hl=en&amp;oi=ao__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!iXRuYLz2TEN3fwbeCi5Ajww6wbIHvtYx6QaGC-EDtKfCDJqBvIbWRBFDk8ft7bRNLwyHs-BMq4KmPZh2$\">https:\/\/scholar.google.de\/citations?user=j6MVr08AAAAJ&amp;hl=en&amp;oi=ao<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I grew up in a small village near Heidelberg, Germany.
