She got her B.S. at the University of Texas at Austin, where she worked in Brett Baker\u2019s lab hunting for novel archaea and studying the origin of eukaryotes. Her current work\u00a0focuses on the metabolites of sea-ice microbial communities. She\u2019s interested in what these extreme polar environments can teach us about icy ocean worlds\u2014especially when it comes to figuring out which icy moons might support life and what molecular biosignatures missions like Europa Clipper should look for.<br>Outside of school, Lacie is a homebody who loves hanging out with her husband and dog.
