About the Instructor
Jaime Troy Nicolaisen was trained as a vocalist by Donald Stenberg of the Peninsula Conservatory of Music, and noted L.A. voice instructor Nathan Lam, coach to Barbra Streisand, Rod Stewart, and The Go-Go's to name a few.
She has instructed beginning and professional voice students in New York City, Los Angeles and Tokyo since 1986. She developed comprehensive music programs for Los Angeles Metropolitan public and private schools in Musical History & Literature through Curriculum, Performance, Composition, Movement, Musical Theater Production, and Choir Direction.
Jaime Nicolaisen is a crossover composer, vocalist, instrumentalist, and performer. She creates compelling works in rock, jazz, blues, cabaret, country, folk, R&B, funk, world, children's, and classical music.
Jaime has performed in musical theater productions, and extensively in clubs and concerts across the U.S, Europe, and Japan since age 16.
Ms. Nicolaisen has worked as a studio musician for EMI, Sony, Warner-Pioneer, Pony Canyon, and Victor Records. She wrote and recorded the music for national commercials promoting Bridgestone, Suntory, and other major brands.
Jaime has rocked top L.A., New York City and European venues with her original songs and performed her music at L.A.'s famed China Club while acting as emcee for their popular "Women in Rock" concert series.
She was a featured performer with her song, "To Fly With Dolphins" as part of "The Concert for Earth Day" on HMS Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA where Jaime shared the stage with members of Steppenwolf, Cream, Toto, and Deep Purple before an audience of luminaries including Nobel Laureate, Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev.
ABC's Flagship Radio Station, KLOS 95.5FM in Los Angeles recently featured Jaime's "Back to Eden" EP, in its entirety, on their popular "Local Licks" program.
Jaime is known and loved by her students for her clarity of communication and her supportive, warm and intuitive mode of instruction.
