I have taught art-based classes and healing arts workshops since 1999. My personal philosophy is that we are all creative. I believe that working with your hands is a necessary component of human experience. I also believe that by coming together to play, share and create we build connections to one another and enhance our sense of community.
I am an artist, educator, and advocate for art in our communities. I have a Master’s in Adult Education with a focus on creativity. I also have a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fiber Art and a Minor in Women’s Studies from the University of Washington. Most recently, my passions for healing and connection have led me to shift my professional focus to become a licensed massage practitioner. I provide therapeutic massage, CranioSacral therapy and visceral manipulation in Port Orchard and Silverdale.
Through the years I have offered courses through the UW Experimental College, Hillsboro Parks and Recreation in Oregon, Burien Parks and Recreation, UW Women’s Center, Pike Market Senior Center, and Earthues a natural color company in Ballard.
I love public projects and community art. I have been an Artist in Residence working as the design artist and facilitator for these public projects:
• Wetlands Mosaic, Jackson Bottom Wetlands Education Center, Greater Hillsboro Area Leadership Project (2003)
• The Mosaic Peace Project, Eckstein Middle School (2001)
• The All-Stars Quilt Project, Pike Market Senior Center (2000)
My work is available for purchase at Harborview Massage & Wellness Center, my private practice. I also have pieces on display at the University of Washington, in the UW Special Collections Library and Mary Gates Hall, as well as at private residences in the Western United States.
I am available for commissions, public art facilitation, and private art-parties.
