Kevin played competitive tennis, developing his skills and had the honor of going to Nationals in Tempe, Arizona with a team Coached by Roger Mark of Avanti Sports and Roger Yamaguchi. As time went by he realized that his true passion was not only playing but teaching tennis. He studied the craft by taking the USPTA courses for teaching tennis.
Starting out with Beginning/Intermediate Tennis classes taught through the U of W Experimental College in the summer of 1992, he has been continuing these classes every summer since.
He soon branched out to coaching USTA 2.5 to 3.5 level men’s and women’s tennis teams at Nordstroms Tennis Center on the UW campus in the winter and spring. Kevin started the first 2.5 Womens tennis team in the Pacific NW in 1995.
Kevin also gives private and semi-private lessons to all ages.
In 2010 he started KingCo Head Coaching position at Ballard H.S. for the Boys’ tennis in the Fall and Metro league Head Coaching position for Nathan Hale HS. Tennis coed team in the Spring.
His latest endeavor involves reaching out to the community with summer Tennis High School camps at Meadowbrook Community Center and Ballard HS courts.
He is also a certified community tennis coach for younger kids through his USTA Quick Start program. Kevin runs Quick Start Summer tennis camps at Ballard HS.
