Julie Russell has been an avid reader of various food blogs for the past few years, and learned to cook by observing friends and family's techniques and recipes. She has worked in catering off and on for years, and also has assisted in cooking classes at The Pantry Community Kitchen (in Ballard). For the past year, she has been hosting a large group dinner at her home every weekend, using all local produce from the Ballard Farmer's Market, and challenges herself to come up with new and interesting recipes for it each week.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington, and currently works at Firefly Kitchens, a small fermented food company in Ballard.
