My name is Sarah Ison. I have been a hospital nurse for over 15 years, and have also worked in public health, and family clinic settings. I have been speaking Spanish for over 26 years. And, I think it is no exaggeration to say that I use my Spanish almost every day at work. I learned Spanish while traveling in Mexico, in the Peace Corps in Guatemala, and by speaking with Hispanic patients. I have always found learning a new language fun and challenging. In the healthcare field, I also find it allows me to connect better with my patients, and be a better nurse to them. I hope I can help you start to make and enjoy this connection.
