Charlotte Austin is writer and editor who often writes about her experiences as an international mountain guide. Her work has appeared in many publications and anthologies, both in print and online, including Seattle Met, Alpinist, Mountain Magazine, and Digital Americana. Samples of her work can be seen here:
After growing up in the Pacific Northwest, she went to school in Scotland (the University of Saint Andrews), Seattle (the University of Washington), and Alaska (the University of Alaska Anchorage.) After school, she ventured into the world of professional writing, editing, and consulting — and has never looked back.
She is also an EMT, an Amateur Ham Radio Operator, a Wilderness First Responder, a Leave No Trace (LNT) trainer, and maintains current AIARE (American Institute for Avalanche Education) Level 2 certification. She works for International Mountain Guides and lives in Seattle, Washington.
