Instructor Biography: Peter Marx
Peter has been self employed in residential remodelling and custom solid surfacing fabrication - for his entire professional career, and has always enjoyed the challenges that it brings and the achievements that he has gained. He was the first Corian fabricator to be certified and accredited (by DuPont in 1979) in the entire Northwest, shortly followed by additional certifications by other solid surface manufacturers (Avonite, Surrel and Fountainhead by Nevamar).
The many years in residential remodelling has added to his knowledge of building and the building process. Peter is an avid problem solver and custom construction is a great fit for my approach to building. I strive to educate my customers to make the best design decisions for each of their projects. Peter is currently engaged in developing economical “green” building solutions.
In 1992 Peter initiated a series of personal development classes for adults in Basic Home Repair, Basic Woodworking, How to Update your Kitchen and other classes. Peter has taught at many community colleges through out the greater Seattle area, including Seattle C.C, Shoreline C.C, Edmonds C.C, and Discover”U”.
Since people have different learning styles I like to impart information using a combination of visual, auditory and examples (props). In 2005 Peter received his teaching credentials to teach high school classes in construction, woodworking and drafting. My enthusiasm for sharing and teaching results in very positive class room experiences.
